GET A QUOTERoofing in Heysham
Roofs in the North West take a battering from wind, driving rain and long wet winters, and it usually shows up first at the ridge, the flashings and around the chimney. KSB Roofing Solutions is a Lancashire-based firm covering Heysham and the surrounding area, handling everything from a few slipped slates to a full re-roof. We work on both pitched and flat roofs, and we are happy to survey first and tell you honestly what needs doing.
What the work involves
For a pitched re-roof we strip the old covering, check and replace any rotten battens and timber, then lay a breathable membrane, re-batten and re-lay your tiles or slate. Ridges and hips are mechanically fixed or dry-bedded to current standards, and lead flashings and chimney work are renewed as needed. Flat roofs are usually stripped back and re-covered in torch-on felt, GRP fibreglass or single-ply, with proper falls and new trims so water drains away instead of pooling.

How many days will the roofing job take?
Small repairs like a slipped tile or a flashing are usually done in a day. A full re-roof runs from a few days up to a couple of weeks for larger or more complicated roofs. Weather in the North West can affect the schedule, so we plan around it and never rush a job at the cost of leaving it watertight. Your quote includes an honest timescale.
What are the signs my roof needs attention?
Look for water marks on ceilings, slates or tiles on the ground after wind, a ridge line that dips, loose flashings, or gutters overflowing with moss. Any of these means water is getting where it should not. Rather than assume the worst, book a free survey and we will inspect the roof and loft and give you a straight answer on what, if anything, needs doing.
Will you put up scaffolding and make a mess?
Bigger jobs generally require scaffolding for safety; smaller repairs can sometimes be done from a ladder or tower. Either way we keep things tidy, protect paths and planting where we can, and load waste straight into our own skip or van. You will not be left with a garden full of old slates and felt. We tell you upfront what access the job needs.
Is your roofing work covered by insurance and a guarantee?
We are fully insured and back our work with a workmanship guarantee, with the exact terms set out in your quote. Where we fit manufacturer-approved membranes, felts or GRP systems, those often come with their own product warranties as well. If you have any concerns about cover, just ask and we will put the details in writing before you agree to anything.
Why is moss a problem on my roof and should I have it removed?
Moss holds moisture against the tiles and gets pushed into the gaps and valleys, where it blocks water from draining and can force it under the covering. In frost it expands and lifts tiles, and clumps break off and block gutters and downpipes. We remove moss carefully, usually by hand scraping and brushing rather than harsh jet-washing, which can damage older tiles, then clear the gutters so water runs freely again.
