GET A QUOTERoofing in Much Hoole
Most roofing jobs start with something small: a damp patch on a bedroom ceiling, moss building up in the valleys, or a lifted tile after a gale. Left alone, water finds its way into the timbers and the bill grows. Based in Preston and covering Much Hoole, KSB Roofing Solutions takes on repairs, re-roofing, leak tracing and storm damage on homes and commercial premises. We use the right materials for the roof rather than the quickest patch.
What the work involves
For a pitched re-roof we strip the old covering, check and replace any rotten battens and timber, then lay a breathable membrane, re-batten and re-lay your tiles or slate. Ridges and hips are mechanically fixed or dry-bedded to current standards, and lead flashings and chimney work are renewed as needed. Flat roofs are usually stripped back and re-covered in torch-on felt, GRP fibreglass or single-ply, with proper falls and new trims so water drains away instead of pooling.

Do I need moss removed from my roof tiles?
Moss looks harmless but it traps water, clogs valleys and gutters, and in cold weather freezes and shifts tiles out of place, opening up gaps for leaks. It is worth clearing, but gently. We avoid aggressive pressure washing on brittle or porous tiles, remove the growth by hand and brush, and flush the gutters afterwards. We can also advise on keeping it from coming straight back.
What will roofing work cost me?
Price comes down to the type of roof, its condition, the materials chosen and how easy it is to reach safely. Storm damage covered by insurance is handled differently again. Rather than guess, we come out, inspect the roof properly and give you a free, itemised quote so you can see exactly what you are paying for before any work begins.
How many days will the roofing job take?
Small repairs like a slipped tile or a flashing are usually done in a day. A full re-roof runs from a few days up to a couple of weeks for larger or more complicated roofs. Weather in the North West can affect the schedule, so we plan around it and never rush a job at the cost of leaving it watertight. Your quote includes an honest timescale.
What are the signs my roof needs attention?
Look for water marks on ceilings, slates or tiles on the ground after wind, a ridge line that dips, loose flashings, or gutters overflowing with moss. Any of these means water is getting where it should not. Rather than assume the worst, book a free survey and we will inspect the roof and loft and give you a straight answer on what, if anything, needs doing.
Is roofing work disruptive, and do you need scaffolding?
Most re-roofs and larger repairs need scaffolding, both for safe access and to meet working-at-height rules, and we include this in the quote. It goes up before we start and comes down when we finish. The work is done from outside, so disruption indoors is minimal. We use dust sheets and debris nets where sensible and clear all broken tiles and rubbish from your property at the end.
